Support Through the Chapter's Board, committees, local programs and staff, you will have a wide range of support available to you as a professional social worker.
Networking/Programs – NASW offer members a chance to stay connected with the social work profession through monthly branch meetings in eight communities, on-going continuing education and an annual conference, as well as a bi-monthly Alaska Chapter newsletter, website, list serve and volunteer opportunities.
Discounted Services - As a member of NASW, you receive other services provided by the Chapter at a lower cost than is otherwise charged for workshops, Annual Conference, insurance, etc. You also receive discounts with credit cards and travel. Advocacy – At the national and state level, your professional interests as a social worker are represented as a social worker by NASW at no additional cost to you.

Publications - The NASW Alaska Chapter News is mailed to members on a bi-monthly basis, as a benefit of membership. Members also receive ten issues of the nationally produced NASW News and four issues of the profession’s premiere journal Social Work. Members are also entitled to receive discounts on NASW’s four specialty journals, Health & Social Work, Social Work in Education, Social Work Research and Social Work Abstracts. Professional Malpractice Insurance -
The NASW

Membership Categories & Dues – Rates Effective July 1, 2004
Regular - $178 (MSW degree or higher)
Regular - $117 (BSW degree)
PhD/DSW Student - $134 (Degree must be in Social Work)
Student - $45 (BSW or MSW students)
Associate Member -- $142 (non-degreed social workers)
Recent graduates who join as students receive discounted
rates for three years.
