Professional Ethics and Standards
The NASW Code of Ethics is intended to serve as a guide to the everyday professional conduct of social workers. The NASW Code of Ethics summarizes the social work profession's mission and core values; presents broad ethical principles based on the profession's core values; offers specific ethical standards to guide social work conduct and provide a basis for adjudication.
Adjudication and Professional Review
NASW's adjudication program strengthens professional practices by providing an opportunity for systematic review of social worker conduct and agency personnel practices.

NASW Trust Risk Management Hotline
Risk management advice is provided to assist social workers responding to circumstances of actual or alleged malpractice at 1-800-421-6694 This hotline service is for NASW members with a malpractice insurance policy through the NASW Assurance Services.
